Difficult decision between the W/S206 and G20/21 3er. In their particular segment (ICE business-class sedan/estate), they're both top-notch. Here in Germany, only the Audi A4 Avant competes, as the sedan plays no role. The A5 Sportback has been quite popular however.

Yes, tough one.
Designwise I’d take the C-class, but… the 3er has one big advantage: an inline 6 cylinder engine, both petrol and diesel. Because of that I’d take a 3er.

I reckon that it all boils down to a matter of personal taste. I suppose that I'd personally sway towards the G20/21. I very much prefer its' interior to that of the M-B. I also find its' exterior more eye-catching.

For me it’s the C class any day love the interior the 3 interior to me is way outdated having travelled in one often

Not to mention the lack of quality in recent MB interiors, from A-Class to S-Class. One simply cannot pay what an MB costs these days and receive poor quality fit & finish.

It's crazy how Brazil gets a C300 AMG Line with four-zone climate control as standard and yet Americans cannot have an S580 AMG Line with four-zone climate control.

Sat in a new C-class yesterday for the first time. What a shame! The interior quality is so low I couldn't believe a C badge on a trunk. For an A-class it would be OK. Look but don't touch) Very futuristic and well designed interior if you just look at it. But the quality and usability with all this idiotic capacitive buttons... Not even close to BMW 3.

My September 2021 W206 order has been pushed back from March to an August '22 delivery now. Not too concerned as my M3 is still due in April/May, but it seems MB have been hit hard by the chip shortages.

The situation is fluid across manufacturers. No matter who you order from, you could be informed of a 3-4 months delay at any point - sometimes within just mere weeks before delivery. Worst case, you are informed that your build slot no longer exists and that you are now at the back of the queue.

Furthermore, manufacturers currently prioritise high value models because they bring in greater revenue and higher volumes. Most importantly an S550 is a tech fest and needs considerably more semi conductors than an entry level C-Class.

Any Idea when this Chip Shit will end ?

Mercedes has had a particularly hard time managing their chip shortage it seems. They've been saying since summer last year that they don't anticipate this completing easing up for them until 2023, but expect significant improvement by late 2022. They're undergoing a restructuring of sorts (as are all manufacturers) to be better protected from this in the future.
