Shaped by desire: Mercedes-Benz is continuing its long tradition of sporty, elegant dream cars with a new, independent series. The new CLE Coupé uses the conceptual and technical innovations of the C-Class and E‑Class. With its expressive design, exclusive comfort equipment for maximum individuality and confident, sporty driving performance, the new two-door car goes its own way. The market launch of the CLE Coupé will start in Europe in November. The CLE Cabriolet will follow next year for open-air connoisseurs. With the new dream car series, Mercedes-Benz is fulfilling the wishes of many customers in the C-and E-Class segments.

Iconic design: Long wheelbase, a well-positioned and strongly inclined A-pillar, a short front and a slightly longer rear body overhang, as well as pronounced shoulders and large wheels. There has always been a special magic inherent in these proportions – and they are inextricably linked to the Mercedes-Benz brand. The new CLE Coupé combines these sporty, elegant proportions with the modern design language of Mercedes‑Benz. True to the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy of Sensual Purity, the result is a sculpture full of power and dynamism that embodies an emotional statement from every perspective.

This is the only part that bothers me, wish the "3rd box" was more defined.. kinda feels like it slopes down into nothing, like the Civic Hatch (new 5er also suffers from this)

OVERALL, I do like this a lot more than the 4er Coupe, the body lines are a lot stronger and the proportions don't look as boat-y.

At least they make a boring car in a segment that is no longer of interest. BMW is destroying its best-selling models. Mercedes now produces vehicles not to sell more, but to make more money. If BMW does not correct the model weakness in the upper segment, it will be the real loser. @dalab

They really have refined this design. It looks great, although a bit dated.
It does feel dated. It's like it should have been introduced with the new C-Class family, I can't even see if this has an updated infotainment system, or something we haven't seen before.

it's a good looking car which was expected but it feels like we have seen it before since it's a combination of existing Mercedes models( GLC coupe, E, a little bit of CLA and C class. it should have been launched with the c class sedan or shortly after. looks wise, better than 4 series or A5 IMO

Agreed it looks frumpy, a bit mpv style. Remind me of the bmw 5gt
