After the G30, the G60 doesn't look like a BMW in my opinion.

G30 was a very safe design, almost bland. Personally it didn’t really stand out for me. Plus, I never had a chance to experience it other than seeing it in real life, so I can’t really comment on other perspectives. The LCI definitely made it prettier though.
We jumped from having a F10 to G60, so it was a huge leap. And i5’s design really spoke to us, unlike the G30. I think radical changes for the design was needed. Now it looks much more special.
Also, what are the criteria’s for a BMW to have anyways?
Hofmeister Kink? Double headlights? L-shaped taillights?
There aren’t many iterations of those elements as so many brands are now doing them. Like VW’s having a “kink”, Ford’s having “angel eyes” (also previous Tiguan), Lexus’ having L-shaped taillights etc. They just don’t seem to be BMW exclusive anymore. Which is the reason why we now get new light graphics, more stylized Kink’s and so on. It was a big mistake for them to abandon the Kink for some models though, thankfully they quickly fixed that.

Getting rather off topic, but the thing that annoys me about the G60, is that it just looks ungainly.
The details of the graphics like Angel-eyes, Kink, Kidneys etc can be changed with a facelift.
Its the sheet metal that just looks awkward and bulky and kinda doofy - though I understand that is because the car is designed for mixed drivetrain options which will fundamentally alter the physical structure of the car. In the flesh its absolutely massive, but not in an appealing way. Its almost as tall as a Kia Niro; a small crossover. And its supposed to be a sporty sedan.

To me, BMWs are about clean, crisp lines. They're kind of menacing, but composed. I've never liked their designs when they've added so many cuts, and creases and angles and shapes. And then you add that to a awkwardly shaped body, it doesn't scream particularly harmonious design to me.

The NKL i3, 3 series and iX3 are a perfect demonstration of exactly what's wrong with the design of the G60. An NKL-inspired facelift will help the 5er a lot, but it still won't completely rid us of those awful proportions.

This is of course, all subjective.

Respect your opinion mate. Although I believe the NK face for the 5er might end up looking very odd. When brands try to adapt their new design language through a facelift they end up looking worse, cause they weren’t designed like that initially. There are many exceptions though, like G12 7er being one of them. That big grille made it much better and worthy of the segment.

A comparison with the front of the old GLB and EQB as well as the CLA.

Personally I think this GLB looks a whole lot better than the CLA or the previous GLB.

I see a bigger problem. The more recent the design, the uglier it is. GLB’s rear lights are a new low for MB in terms of exterior design.

Actually, there wasn't a direct question; I thought it redundant to point that out because I assumed you all had already figured it out, so, hello.

If you'll allow me to answer, and subject to any better opinion, it was a series of heated discussions that got out of control, in which I had my share of responsibility and blame.

Despite outselling the G30, the W213 has undergone a radical facelift. What are your thoughts on this? I think it's a terrible change.

I applauded the W213 FL. But that's just me. I'm a sucker for elements that accentuate visual width and have never been a fan of stacked lighting units, front or rear. Needless to say, I'm a fan of thin, full width rear lightbands ala Porsche as of the Taycan and 992. Of course, I really like the stacked headlamp units featured on many classic cars of the 1950s and 1960s. But that's really..."yesterday".

In the USA for the 2027 MY you'll have the new CLA hybrid models, GLB, C-Class FL, S-Class FL, GLE FL, GLS FL, CLE63, possibly the C_Class facelift? That is a lot. Then the G-Class Cabriolet. I guess for 2028 model year E_Class FL, SL FL, E_Class EV. They're trying to reach 400K units a year here, but I think that focus on the numbers is wrong. Just build better cars and the sales will handle themselves.
