Hello,

I am in big dilemma, I am waiting for new Z4, but a few days ago I recived great offer for E92 335i Coupe, fully loaded, white with M package. I am buying a car for next 2 - 3 years and my only concern is E92 will became dated at that time.. I can't decide what to do, but I must take a decision next week..

So, what would be your choice, E92 335i Coupe or new Z4 ?

Thanx

This decision boils down to only one thing IMO: Practicality

If you spend most of your time driving alone or with the wifey/gf (i.e. only one passenger) and never really need a big boot then definitely the Z4. Also, if the Z4 is going to be your second car (for cruising around on weekends) then I would definitely recommend it. As a daily driver, The only draw backs with the Z4 that I can think of, will be that it can only seat 2 ppl and the boot space will be as good as non existant with it having a tintop folding roof.

However the 335i is definitely more spacious, comfortable, practical to live with as a DD and has the dual personality as a pretty awesome sports coupe.

I think, I would go with the E92!! Absolutely love the design of the car - it is timeless!! It is a great car for long distance driving, but you also can have a lot of fun on country roads and the fuel consumption isn't bad at all.
I would also prefer the 335i because of the more spacious interior! :t-cheers:

Space isn't Shakal's biggest concern I think. He has been interested in the new Z4 for a long time already, and it was the car he would get if this offer on E92 didn't fall on his lap...

E92 will also be facelifted in a year from now, and the Z4 will be a brand new car on the roads in 1 year.

I must say, it's a difficult decision. E92 335i with M pack is a dream car. imo one of the very best cars ever made. New Z4 will have the edge in most criteria though, other than space and stuff. It's a smaller and lighter car based on the 3er, so....

Thanx everyone :usa7uh:

Probably I will wait, this E92 is great car, but I believe new Z4 will be even better... Space isn't very important, since its second car (but at summer is used more than primary car) and for me and my GF I think Z4 got enough space... I hope Z4 will soon lose some camouflague. :t-cheers:

It's always a case of practicality vs driving pleasure when it comes to roadsters and GTs. Since it's going to be a secondary car then you can go ahead and treat yourself with a sports car.

I saw the very same car come past me this morning - it looks awesome. Why wait 18 months - realistically that's when you're going to get your E89 - I vote for instant gratification right now! The E92 335i Coupe is almost in a class of its own.

If it's only a second car, I would wait for the Z4. However, it's only in 18 months, so it's up to you to see if you can wait so long.

I'm confident you'll be extremely happy with the e92, which is an awesome car.
However, I'm also pretty sure that you will regreat your decision once the pics of the Z4 will begin to show up... This car won't deceive, whereas the e92 is quite "common" and will be updated in the next future.

I would wait for the Z4, if you don't want to sell your e92 once the Z4 is there.

18 months ? I thought new Z4 will be available in April next year, after Geneva motor show :eusa_thin

Yeah, it's more like 10 months....absolute max. The car will be shown behind closed doors in Paris, and will be presented to the press between Paris and Geneva where the public unveiling will be.

Like everyone else is saying, if it's a second car, I'd say Z4 as well. Plus it'll have the updated I-drive. Also, if you get a convertible as well... I've never been a fan of those, but recently I've been really drawn into getting an E46 M3 as a second car to my E46 328i. Sure it's slower than the Coupe and doesn't handle quite as well, but I'm not going to be taking the car to the tracks... something about open air motoring!

This is all a dream of course... or maybe not. I've been eyeing these Imola Red M3s... prices dropping everyday :icondrool

Thanx everyone.. I had make my choice ... I told to friend , who is selling his E92 335i that I will wait for new Z4. This E92 335 is 4 months old, got 3000 km and he is selling it because he has ordered new M3.

We will see new Z4 in a few months, so after that I will choose which one I will order, 335 or Z4. I will pay a little more for new one or I will have less equipment, but I will know that my decision is right.
