C-Class [Spyshots] 2018 Mercedes C-Class Facelift Interior Spyshots??

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.

Very interesting article on Autoevolution today

Moving away from the LCD parade, we find a new layout for the steering wheel buttons, with a “master” button being introduced on each side of the wheel.

Moreover, the center stack-placed physical button arrangement for the climate control system appears to have replaced the control for the air-conditioning with a button that controls a three-level heating, probably for the steering wheel.

While the C-Class facelift isn’t expected to bow until 2017, this digital dashboard trick should make its way into the Mercedes C-Class Coupe, which will land by the end of the current year.

Look at the instruments they are fully digital, full TFT display like S-class. I wonder if they will change the Ipad command screen as well and make it bigger.

Might be a mule for testing new equipment for the next generation E-Class, dual TFT display will be available for the upmarket w213 according to previous spyshot.

That's what I thought could be a test mule for E but then again Mr. Wagener already confirmed that the C coupe will look significantly different the to sedan version so you never know.

Looking at what Mercedes did with the A-class family and what competitors are doing in this segment, I expect the interior to be exactly the same design than the sedan, and seeing just how good the interior is, I won't complain about this.

If I'm wrong, I think the exterior will be probably more sporty than the sedan, so unlikely to get two enormous TFT screen.

I absolutely hate these huge LCD instrument panels + infotainment screen. No matter how crisp the LCD screen is, it's like they are trying to fit an oversize TV inside a car.

Yes, it's cool, but I prefer the more classic approach of the typical analog speed and rev gauge with a well enough small to medium size, well-integrated LCD screen. It's a car, not your living room.

Autocar says

The biggest exterior change will be a completely revised dashboard featuring a full-width TFT screen, very similar to that used in the new S-Class flagship.

The new dash will be fully reconfigurable, allowing the driver to scroll through a number of different graphic displays.

The new TFT screen will also be integral to a raft of ‘autonomous’ driving technologies that will be offered on the revised C-Class, which is expected to be revealed in late 2016.

The new car will be equipped with a raft of detection equipment, including radar, cameras and ultrasonic sensors, to allow it to ‘read’ its surroundings.

The more I look at this zoomed in the more it looks like the nav area and the gauge area are on 2 different planes. Is it possible we're still seeing 2 separate screens? Judging by the way camo is draped over the nav area it still appears to be free standing...I could be wrong though of course.

It's quite obvious it's two separate screens.

Personally, despite the reports I really don't think they will change the C dash to be more aligned with the S. I think it will retain the iPad-like screen and they are just adding TFT to the speedometer area. In the spy shot, they are still two separate screens, albeit the iPad screen looks bigger.

Glad I'm not the only one. Based on the posts above me people seemed to think it was the same setup as the S-class.

Right. My thinking exactly.

I guess these updates will be for the 2017 model year in the U.S. which I guess makes sense. Not a facelift per say, but updated to match the S and new E? I would bet for the 2018 model year the facelift will include the new I6 engines.

I agree. No way this is for the W205.

Why? The C came after the S. They would have made it look like the S in the first place if they wanted that..

Just another idea. The TFT screen could be part of some kind of technology package option which includes night vision etc, and with that you get the TFT screen.
